Article Marketing Still Works

Article marketing has been and still is a popular and effective way to gain exposure for your site, get backlinks to your site and/or market your product. While it’s true that it has lost some of it’s effectiveness, article marketing is still a good tool in anyones arsenal of site development and SEO strategies.

I know some people have been able to use article marketing successfully to sell their affiliate products in the past, however I’ve never been too successful trying that route. I primarily use articles to gain additional backlinks from the directories themselves and from those who pick up the articles to use on their own sites. Plus, many of the article directories no longer allow links in the body of the article, making it more difficult to use articles to sell affiliate products directly.

You can still put links in the “About the Author” section at the end of each article and this is a great way to gain backlinks and gain some additional traffic to your site. It’s also a good chance to get links to some of your deeper pages which will help you rank them better in the search engines in the long run.
